MY MUSICAL JOURNEY

There has never been a time in my life when I wasn’t singing. From an early age in school choirs and musicals I developed a love of this expressive art that shaped the course of my life. After earning degrees in Music and Voice, and a Certificate in Arts Management, I then studied with the great vocal pedagogue Cornelius Reid, specifically in the Bel Canto style, which allowed me to pursue opera and musical theater performance. His training, the network of like- minded musicians in his studio, and further studies with Gary Norden and Donna Reid shaped me as a musician and teacher. I have since then enjoyed a full musical life of performing, teaching and directing.

My opera roles include Mimi in La Boheme, Zerlina in Don Giovanni; Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi, the Sandman and Dew Fairy in Hansel and Gretel; and Second Spirit in The Magic Flute for companies such as DiCapo Opera Theatre, Liederkranz Opera, Brandenburg Opera and New York Artists Opera Company where I also served as Assistant Director. My solo cabaret, "The Good Life" was directed by Regina O'Malley with music direction by Steve Silverstein.

My ensemble work as a soprano includes Amici Cantanti Vocal Ensemble (with whom I recorded two albums),

Take 4 Women's Quartet, Sorelle Belle Operatic Trio, and Sing We Enchanted A Cappella Group. In these ensembles,

I performed a variety of styles such as opera, standards, classical, cabaret, musical theater, baroque, and renaissance.
