PRIVATE VOICE LESSONS
"Regina's guidance and teaching has allowed me to develop into a more thoughtful and analytical singer. She has taught me how to deconstruct a song and how to connect the pieces together," - Michelle, former voice student
Having been classically trained by incredibly astute teachers and technicians, I am able to use my skills to help shape the destinies of young and adult singers; in essence, I help them to realize their true vocal potential. I want my students to sing joyfully and confidently – with ease and intention.
In my lessons, students can prepare for any and all musical occasions such as college auditions, NYSSMA performances including sight reading, musical and choral auditions, upcoming personal performances, and more.
Below is what you can expect in your individual voice lessons:
-
Lessons begin with upper body stretching and breathing exercises, then a wide range of vocal exercises designed to help coordinate and strengthen the voice and extend range;
-
Age appropriate repertoire is assigned to each individual singer to help foster vocal development including repertoire in Italian, French and German;
-
Music theory is taught so that my singers will not only know how to read their vocal lines and understand what every mark on the page means, they will become proficient in vocal and general music terminology;
-
Master classes are offered, and provide an excellent opportunity for each student to perform for others, be exposed to new repertoire, learn in a group setting, and receive coaching on current repertoire;
-
The academic year will end with a showcase for each singer to perform a selection of pieces from their repertoire for friends, family, and their peers.
I want my students to explore the possibilities of their sound and learn to take risks. They will understand music from the inside out through lyric work and analyzing the story of every song. My students learn to be thoughtful singers who always consider preparation, initiation of sound, core of sound, expression, style, diction, phrasing, and dynamics. I strive for my students to enjoy the process of voice training and song learning, and I warmly champion every aspect of their growth.
I teach from my home music studio in the Lower Hudson Valley region of Westchester County.
